Welcome to Megan's Precious Dachshunds!
Thank you for visiting us! We are a small family located in McCordsville, IN, and we share our home with our 7 dachshunds. We specialize in AKC miniature dachshunds in smooth and long coats, in a variety of colors including cream and chocolate. We have worked hard to obtain nice bloodlines with hopes of producing puppies who have outstanding conformation and loving temperaments. We are very proud of our dogs and they are true members of our family! We only have a few litters a year and are very particular about where our babies go. Dachshunds are our passion and we enjoy sharing this amazing breed with other families. Please feel free to sit back, relax, and enjoy our wonderful world of dachshunds!
Most of our dogs have Champion bloodlines and this will help produce correct dachshunds true to the AKC Standard and dogs with friendly personalities. We are a very small program, so this makes it even more important for us to invest in high quality dogs for our program. We strive to produce quality, not quantity, and work towards improving the traits of our dogs with every breeding.
We currently produce dachshunds in cream, red, black/tan, dilutes, and our personal favorite: chocolates! We have dapple and brindle patterns in our program at this time, but we do NOT produce double dapples!
All of our dogs live inside with us and our puppies are born and raised inside as members of our family until they go home with you. Since we only have a few litters a year, our puppies get the attention they need during this important stage in their development. All of our adults receive regular veterinary care including preventative measures for heartworm and other parasites. Our litters are de-wormed every two weeks and are up-to-date on vaccinations, and they are also examined by our veterinarian at 7-8 weeks of age before they go to their new homes. All puppies are sold with a written health guarantee against genetic defects.
Dachshunds are wonderful dogs, but not necessarily the best choice for every family. Be aware they are sometimes stubborn and can be very vocal, but they are eternally loyal and loving to their humans (and very entertaining!). We do not raise any other breeds!!!
